This year's salmon hosts have arrived!
The salmon office at Storjord has hired new hosts! This year, the two brothers Sigve and Andreas Strand are ready to welcome fishermen and tourists in Beiarn! They will be here all summer, ready to help you out, whether you need fishing advice, places to eat, or accommodation in our beautiful village.
The brothers are born and raised in Beiarn, and got their love for the mountains, river and forests from an early age. The oldest brother, Andreas, has fished the river so many hours, he’s lost track. Learning from his father since childhood, he knows the river in and out. The younger brother, Sigve, got to feel the rush of salmon fishing last year, when he caught his first salmon. The first of many! The Strand brothers have enjoyed the life in the mountains since an early age, especially the trout fishery at the Beiar mountain.
In the final time before the river opens, the brothers have spent a lot of time along the river, and talked to the land owners to get the best information about the river. This way, when you come asking “where should I fish today?” they have the best suggestions. Our goal is to help both locals and travellers get the best experience they possibly can while visiting Beiarn, both in and out of the river. The water levels, what you’re fishing with, how you want to fish, and when you want to fish, are all things the brothers take into consideration when giving their suggestions. Their goal is always to make sure you don’t leave the Beiar river empty handed.
At the salmon office we can rent out equipment, free of charge for children under the age of 16. We also sell fishing licenses to most zones in the river, as well as disinfection of equipment. If you return here to disinfect for the second time, if you’ve fished another river in between fishing Beiarn, we’ll disinfect it for free! We also have a selection of fishing equipment for sale. Last, but not least, you can always count on a good chat and good advice if you swing by!
