A lot of our guests want their trip to the Beiar valley to be unique. At Molid we can tailor your stay to your needs or wishes. You can rent the whole zone exclusively, be served by the water or get a breakfast buffet or dinner where you’ll be staying. We’re here for you, if you give us some time, what we can do for you is amazing. Our zone may be small, but the service you’ll get is terrific!
NEAT AND COZY ALONG THE RIVER
Here at Molid, we do our best to facilitate our little zone for the fishermen who come visit us. We call it “our paradise along the Beiar river”. For the 2020 season, we went ahead and made the whole stretch of river accessible by removing obstructing vegetation. We’ve also removed a bunch of thicket, added benches down by the river, and made space for fly fishermen to cast. Now you can experience the Beiar river as close as it gets - with or without waders!
Fly fishing
The whole zone is tailored for fly fishing, especially by the staircase and farther down stream. After cleaning out vegetation along the whole zone, the lower part of the river has also become more accessible. Many people will experience incredible fishing here in the coming years - both sea trout and salmon. Since we’re in the part of the river where you can fish sea trout until september 15th - our zone is an ideal zone for fly fishermen hunting sea trout.
Spinfishing
For people fishing with lures, there are no limitations in our zone. Most fishermen will most likely want to fish in the deeper, upper part of the zone, but if you’re experienced and using the right equipment, you can fish the whole stretch. In the lower part of the zone, where the currents are faster, it can be extremely effective to fish upstream with a spinner. In the calmer areas, a wobbler would be your best bet!
Fishing with worms
You should never underestimate the worm! Not at Molid, not at the Beiar river as a whole! When the fish are slow, and seem reluctant to bite, the worm is often the solution! In the upper part of the river the river bed is smooth and getting a good drift is easy. In the lower part using a lighter sinker is important, as it helps avoid snags! Remember to only use circle hooks, and don't forget to try the red wool thread!
A little info about the land owners!
In our land owner association, we have a system in place where we change leaders often, and we all have the same wish for Molid; to keep it well run with a focus on sports fishing, fishing tourism and maintaining the great fishing we have here! The leader for this season is Thomas Johansen.
We are personally engaged in the work along the river bank, and a lot of us are fishermen you’ll most likely meet if you come visit us!
