The Selfors zone is a short, but varied stretch of 1.2km of river. There are 3 main fishing spots, but it’s possible to fish the whole stretch from Ågrøva to Førsn. The lower part is full of good currents and large stones on the bottom, and thats where the salmon are! Along the upper part the river flows slowly. Here you can fish from open sandbanks, provided the water levels aren’t high.
The zone is well suited to rent for groups of up to 6 fishermen. At medium and low water levels, the zone is an excellent choice for families. There are sandbanks, stone beaches and 2 shelters with toilets. The basic facilities make a longer stay possible. The land owners make sure there is always firewood in the shelters for the fishermen! You’ll also find landing-nets, and information plaques containing info about fishing in the Beiar river, and envelopes for scale samples.
At Selfors you can greet calves and cattle, which occasionally will greet you by the river when out pasturing by the river a few weeks every summer. One of our land owners can offer lodging. There is space to park a caravan, but you’ll also be able to pitch tents close to the shelters. Parking is available by the Selfors bridge, at the junction to Savjordveien or by Lisjåkjeften.
Welcome to us at Selfors!
